Bob Schulz’ Frisco Jazz Band (San Francisco, CA)

Bob and the gang are one of everyone’s favorite bands. It is San Francisco style played as well as it can be played. The band is blessed with several great voices; their vocals are terrific. You might see a couple of guests sitting in with this band. It is great to have Bob back.

Bryan Shaw’s Hot Shots  (Orange County, CA)

Last year, Bryan Shaw joined us as a guest artist after being away from his music for a while. Bryan had fun and our attendees had a ball. Every set Bryan sat in with was raised to another level. So, we asked Bryan to “come back with a band”. And, he is. Just the list of musicians will tell you what to expect. It is going to be “hot” and tight – played the way you like it. This will be fun.

Members include:  Bryan Shaw, trumpet, leader; Evan Arntzen, reeds, vocals; ___________, trombone; Katie Cavera, string bass, vocals; Brad Roth, banjo; Clint Baker, drums; Ray Templin, piano.

Grand Dominion Jazz Band (Camano Island, WA)

This is one of everyone’s favorite bands and here for the ninth year in a row. The Grand Dominion sound has a “British flavor”; it is a REALLY hot band. This band is a favorite on the jazz cruises and at other festivals. We are proud to have them in Port Angeles. Don't Miss their "Jazz Gospel" set on Sunday morning.

Everyone is a High Sierra follower. It is a fun group to follow. They are a high-energy bunch with great ensemble work and magnificent solos. Pieter Meijers always brings a few smiles between tunes. Holotradband (Seattle, WA)

This band plays basically here in the Seattle area.  You do not find them “on the circuit” so to speak.  But, for our attendees who have seen this band in the last two years, the band is one of their favorites and is back by request. This is a “no nonsense” band that plays the music right and hot. We are proud to have the Holotradband back.

New Black Eagle Jazz Band (Boston, MA)

There are few really great pleasures in life but having the New Black Eagles back will be one of them. This band does not play on the West coast very often. But, this festival is blessed; they like to come here and we are privileged to have them. Few bands play OKOM with the authenticity, style and flair that they do. Enjoy the New Black Eagles. They will also play in the Afterglow.

Members include:  Tony Pringle, cornet vocals, leader;  Billy Novick, reeds; Stan Vincent, trombone; Bob Pilsbury, piano, vocals; Stan Vincent, banjo; Pam Pameijer, drums; Barry Bockus, bass.

Uptown Lowdown Jazz Band (Bellevue, WA)

Bert Barr’s group is a trad lovers dream.  They never confuse or play with the music.  Their book is broad, they play it right and they play it tight.  This is their ninth year in a row here -- back by popular demand.  And, what a fine group of musicians it is.   Keep an eye on those two bass saxophones up front – they will amaze you.  It is our pleasure to have them here.

Members include: Bert Barr, cornet/leader; John Goodrich, reeds/vocals; Paul Woltz, reeds/vocals; trombone Tom Jacobus, Rose Marie Barr, piano; Al Latourette, banjo; Art Horgen, tuba.

Wolverine Jazz Band  (Boston, MA)

This band is twelve years young. They typically frequent the musical hot spots of Boston and New England. But, this year we will be privileged to have theme here. You will hear mostly trad but may find a little “swing” thrown in.  They are musically wonderful and will fit in with all the other fine musicians here. This is a hot band and you will like them.

Members include: Jeff Hughes, cornet, flugelhorn; John Clark, reeds, leader; Tom Boates, trombone, vocals; Ross Petot, piano; Jimmy Mazzy, banjo, vocals; Rick MacWilliams, tuba; Dave Didrikson, drums.

Jim Buchmann – special guest

Everybody knows “Gentleman Jim” Buchmann. What a reed player; what a musician. When Jim joins a band on stage, everyone’s energy rises. Whatever the tune or the style of play, Jim plays within the band and adds a dimension of excitement. This will be a treat for everyone. See the program for particular sets in which Jim will appear.
